Safe at home!

Randy Parker has spent his life in membership development. He has worked for the United States Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Business, and other business organizations. For the 15 years just prior to joining Pre-Paid Legal Services, Randy and Char owned and operated a company that was involved in membership development for political organizations. Randy has spent his career in mission-oriented companies.

In 1999, Randy became a Pre-Paid Legal member when his friend and PPL Bronze Executive Director, Bob Sappington, introduced him to the membership. Even though Randy had been introduced to the business side of PPL, he was convinced that no one really made any money in MLM companies and had no interest in that side of the business. Says Randy, "Bob Sappington and I were friends, and it seemed like every New Year's Eve we were at the same party. Every year I would ask Bob how his business was doing, and every year I was surprised that he was still with that company." Even more, Bob was becoming increasingly successful each year. Knowing that Randy's hot button was a lack of retirement income, Bob wisely kept sharing that he was building long term residual income. Even so, it would be another three years before Randy would be ready to join the "real party."

In December 2002, Randy and Char's next door neighbor visited their home with the intent of selling them on buying products from their brand new MLM venture. Their friend brought another lady to the presentation and the friend was sharp! Randy says, "That lady drove a brand new $70,000 BMW up my driveway. It was beautiful!" In addition to her success she knew her product and seemed to be very happy in her career choice. They were both impressed with the lady and her product. Before they knew it, Char and Randy had purchased over $300 worth of soap. After the deal was complete Randy asked this lady if she was really making the money to buy that BMW from her MLM company. She proceeded to show them her 1099 from 2001. She had earned over $300,000 selling SOAP! When they asked her how that was possible, she explained the power of Network Marketing. And, she too drove home the concept of residual income. Although Randy and Char had no interest in selling soap products, they were suddenly very interested Bob Sappington's Pre-Paid Legal opportunity.

According to Webster's Online Dictionary, "a paradigm shift occurs when one changes from one way of thinking to another. It's a revolution, a transformation, a sort of metamorphosis. It just does not happen, but rather it is driven by agents of change". Randy had just experienced what is called a Paradigm Shift.

Randy continued, "At the moment I looked at that lady's 1099, I knew I wanted a Network Marketing opportunity! The next morning I called Bob Sappington and asked him to stop over to re-explain the Pre-Paid Legal compensation plan." In January 2003, Randy and Char became associates with Pre-Paid Legal.

Randy and Char have fallen in love with the mission of Pre-Paid Legal Services. They worked on a part-time basis during their first year. They were so successful working part-time that in the fall of 2003, they made a decision to begin selling their membership development company. They began working PPL full-time in January 2004, and 9 months later during the Las Vegas convention, they were awarded the $100,000 Gold Ring.

Randy has specialized in Group Sales and has recently started team building. He believes in goal setting and recently said, "Our goal is to bring success to one new associate per month in 2005. We want to help twelve new associates become Executive Directors in 2005!" Next New Year's Eve Party should be some celebration at the Parker's! And too, at the Sappington's!
