Like many people in Pre-Paid Legal, when I first heard about this company, I was not looking for an opportunity. I am a CPA, formerly with Price, Waterhouse, Coopers. When I first started with the Company, I had a small tax practice, as well as being a top producing Broker Realtor. I owned several investment properties and managed them all myself. My “plate” was full and even though I worked 7 days a week, I felt that I was on top of the world. I had gotten used to being a work machine with a good income – but not much of a personal life.

I was introduced to this by a friend. She has a very successful massage and Pilates studio – and to be honest, my first impression was one of amazement that she would be involved with direct sales when she was so successful already. Although I knew the value of using lawyers, I rarely used them and knew that the vast majority of my clients didn’t either – so I initially couldn’t see the value. It took my friend months to get me to a business briefing. It was only because of obligation that I finally agreed to go, and I was quite emphatic that I was not interested in pursuing this. Famous last words!! LOL

When I found out what Pre-Paid Legal was really about, instead of relying on my preconceived ideas, I was totally blown away. This was a revolution. This was a crusade. This really helped people! On a daily basis, clients asked me for legal advice, and on some occasions I would give them suggestions, but I would always add that they needed to consult with an attorney – which I knew that they probably wouldn’t because it was too expensive. I saw the need for this service on a daily basis. I was hooked!

I started out on a very part-time basis and over a few months I saw the deposits in my account increase substantially. The idea that I could help people and get paid for it was incredible. I have always been a person that tried to help people. I believe that this is a very small earth and that we need to care about and help each other every day.

I was so excited about this service that I began talking to everyone about it. Some people listened and some didn’t; it didn’t stop me either way because I knew that this service is the future. It helps and empowers people. Before going full time with Pre-Paid Legal, I hadn’t had a vacation or a day off in 5 years – it was time. I sold off most of my rental properties, let go of my real estate business, and started working full time in Pre-Paid Legal. What amazed me the most was that I was able to make close to the same income while only working a 30-40 hours per week! I still do taxes, because I love the challenge – but I do it because I want to and not because I have to.

This business has given me back my time and allowed me to help more people than ever before. Priceless.
