The first-time program, Success for Teens, was sponsored by Steve and Kim Melia of Pre-Paid Legal Services, who raised money for the club and also donated their time.
 Seven teens completed the eight-week course Nov. 24 and participated in a graduation ceremony, where the Melias presented a check for $25,000 to the Brigade Boys and Girls Club.
As part of the Success for Teens program, the students learned how to set goals and realized the value of positive thinking and personal development. The mission of the program is to inspire and empower young people to value life, develop a positive self image and realize their full potential.
This program was based on the book 'Success for Teens,' written by the editors of the Success Foundation. The foundation's goal is to donate 5 million books to various youth organizations.
'We are so pleased with the students that are completing the Success for Teens program,' said Kim Melia. 'We realize that teens can be open to bettering themselves and they just need a little help from programs such as this.'
